In the heart of the Bay of Arcachon, within a protected site, our teams worked on a most unusual project, hut no. 21 on Île aux Oiseaux.
The outdated hut was renovated using environmentally-friendly materials, such as low-carbon concrete for the shell.
The project, which took several weeks to complete, required meticulous planning in view of the tides, whether to bring in materials, repatriate waste or manage the transport of our work teams via a local boat known as a "plate".
These small, hard-to-reach wooden huts are only accessible when the tide is right. They are used to store equipment and also to house the site wardens.
