Thomas Martine, 24, is a high-level fencer, a member of the Club Escrime Clamart, and now a Human Resources Development Manager in the Eiffage Construction teams! He is part of the Performance Pact - of which we have been a member company since 2014 - initiated by the Ministry of Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and which enables him to juggle his sporting career with his professional career within our company.
His fencing career began sixteen years ago in the Paris region, under the tutelage of top Olympic coach Christian Bauer, at the Charenton club. In February 2021, he will follow this coach to Orléans, where he has set up the Christian Bauer fencing academy. Today, Thomas is preparing hard to proudly represent his country at the Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 Games.
After completing his STI2D Architecture and Construction baccalaureate, Thomas continued his training with a work-linked BTS in Building at Eiffage Construction Habitat, from September 2017 to August 2019. This rewarding experience has helped him to grow professionally. As assistant site manager on two worksites, he gained valuable expertise.
However, after obtaining his BTS, Thomas decided not to continue down this path, as it was not compatible with his sporting aspirations at the time. He therefore began distance learning psychology studies, which he is now pursuing in the third year of his degree at Rennes 2.
The decision to sign a contract with Eiffage Construction was an obvious one for him, having started his professional career with our teams. This contract gives him the stability he needs to pursue his ambitious sporting project.
Thomas recently distinguished himself by taking third place in the first national competition in Strasbourg, France. This excellent result opened the door to the World Cup in Algiers, the first selective competition for the Olympic Games.
The next challenges facing Thomas with a view to qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games are numerous:

- 25 November - the Circuit Nationale in Pau
- From 7 to 9 December 2023 the Grand Prix NUOMA in Orléans
- 16 December 2023 the French Elite Senior Championships in Nantes
