The last work in France by Oscar Niemeyer, the famous Brazilian architect, is getting a facelift thanks to our Eiffage Construction teams.

Work has begun on what was once the headquarters of the newspaper L'Humanité. Recently, our teams began dismantling the curtain wall using suction pads to prevent the glass from breaking.

Both the aluminium structural grid and the glass will be entirely recycled.

The large vertical sheet of glass, which covers 2,000 m2 from the first to the third floor, will be replaced by a new curtain wall that will respect the layout, alternating between fixed spandrel sections and opening sections. Reflective pyrolytic double-glazed glass panels, manufactured in France by AGC Group, will replace the single-glazed panels.

Their thermal performance, which is twice as high, is accompanied by improved light transmission.
